Your role

  • Advise leadership with regards to complex rehabilitation and return-to-work plans, monitoring their effectiveness to ensure a safe and efficient return to work.
  • Serve as the primary contact and subject matter expert on complex sick and disability benefit claims, collaborating with various stakeholders, providing expert advice on disability/case management plans, and ensuring medically-supported workplace accommodations.
  • Coordinate communication between employees and healthcare professionals to secure timely medical information.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation and the incorporation of the latest disability guidelines and treatment protocols.
  • Educate management and employees on, and conduct data analysis to prepare comprehensive reports and proposals.
  • Assist in the management of complex claims, providing opinions on fitness for work, and recommendations return to work.
  • Provides advice to, and works with HR Managers, employees, union representatives and the benefits carriers in the development, negotiation and implementation of disability/case management plans and agreements.
  • Assist in supporting with employee wellness programs, initiatives, and events to enhance overall employee health and prevent/mitigate workplace illnesses and injuries.

 

The qualifications we are looking for

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in consulting, client management and disability case management in a corporate setting.
  • Diverse healthcare experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in implementation science, or health-related discipline an asset
  • Knowledge of organizational well-being, Employee Assistance Programs, Benefits & Pension or Health & Wellness is an asset.
  • Preference will be given to candidates that have a certification or relevant education or experience in a business and health-focused field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in product or service portfolio management in a disability management environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge in implementation methodologies.
  • Experience in monitoring and managing a portfolio of diverse health and wellness assets, solutions, or services.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a leader and an agent for change to create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues.
  • Exceptional organizational and priority management skills combined with demonstrated reliability, consistency, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • Exceptional reporting and project/product performance management abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal engagement, and relationship building skills coupled with professionalism in verbal and written communication.
  • Proficiency in leading both physical and virtual working groups.
  • Experience in dealing with vendors, third-party-provided products and services.
